Character Background
Dr. Evelyn Vogel is a brilliant neuropsychiatrist specializing in psychopaths. She is introduced in Season 8 as a consultant for the Miami Metro Police Department, but it is soon revealed that she has a deep connection to Dexter's past—she helped Harry Morgan create the Code that Dexter follows.
Vogel sees Dexter as her "perfect creation", as she believes he represents a functioning psychopath who channels his urges for a "greater good." However, her past actions come back to haunt her, as she is targeted by the Brain Surgeon, a serial killer with a personal vendetta against her.
