Character Background

Dexter Morgan was born Dexter Moser, the son of Laura Moser, a woman involved with criminals. When Dexter was three years old, he witnessed his mother's brutal murder in a shipping container, along with his brother, Brian Moser. This traumatic event led to him developing psychopathic tendencies.

He was later adopted by Harry Morgan, a Miami cop, who recognized Dexter's violent urges. Instead of trying to "cure" him, Harry trained Dexter to channel his dark impulses into killing criminals who deserved it, following a strict set of rules known as "The Code of Harry."
